Created Faces

"Created Faces" is an exhibition of collaborative work from our Media Makeup and Photography workshops. The exhibition is all about identity, self-perception, and character from the unique perspectives that young people have. Using makeup, prosthetics, masks, lighting, modelling, and editing, the theme will offer an opportunity for young people to explore feelings surrounding their own identity and how different emotions are presented differently - through the lens of fantasy and Jungian character archetypes.

What We’re looking for from artists:

To be a part of our Media Makeup or Capture & Edit (Photography) workshops (bookable via https://bookwhen.com/inspire-enrichment-booking)!

This is a collaborative project, so each piece of submitted work will be a combined effort between 2 or more individuals at least - and we'll sort out all the printing and installation.

Any young creative aged 25 and under can join in, all you need is a willingness to just get stuck in and try your best!

Media Makeup runs from 4:30pm-6pm and Capture & Edit runs from 5:30pm-7pm - both are on Tuesdays, and the crossover time is to allow the photographing of the work that the Media Makeup group are doing towards the exhibition.

Media Accepted:

The exhibition will be primarily photographic portraits, though other mediums that our young people would like to make around the theme and submit are always welcome.

For those that would like to engage in the Media Makeup side of things, but don't like to have makeup on their skin, we will be working with masks, and these can be submitted and exhibited alongside the photographic work.

limitations or Guidlines

As part of our ethos at Inspire Enrichment, the driving force for us curating this exhibition is to provide an exhibition opportunity to our young people, who might otherwise struggle to find an entry point into the world of the arts. As such, we are primarily accepting submissions from within our workshops. However, we understand that attending group workshops is not always comfortable or practical for lots of young people in and around the area of Swindon. If you are aged 25 and under, or know a young person who is, who might like to submit their own work towards the theme, please reach out to us and we'll see if we can help! Currently, we are only covering the printing and installation costs for the young people within our workshops, so external submissions should be submitted with covering their own costs in mind.

How to apply Details

Contact us via email or via our Bookwhen (https://bookwhen.com/inspire-enrichment-booking) to sign up to the workshops.

These both run on Tuesdays after school (Media Makeup 4:30pm-6pm and Capture & Edit 5:30pm-7pm), but if this doesn't work, let us know and we'll see if we can accommodate, or add in some extra classes in the week if there's enough demand.

There is also a possibility for performances or workshops at SWAF, and we have a variety of dance and drama classes as well - if these are more your style, please feel free to reach out to us.

Deadlines

The "Created Faces" work will be made in our workshops during the 6-week term from Monday 13th April 2026 - Friday 22nd May 2026.

The more of the term you can be there for, the more we can provide support with the submissions. Alternatively, any external submissions from young people should be submitted by 7pm on Friday 22nd May 2026.

Workshops or Events

We are working on a programme of Photography and Media Makeup workshops to run during SWAF, most likely at the weekends. These will be one-off taster-style sessions to give people a chance to get stuck in and hone their artistic skills. We are also looking at running one-off-style dance and drama workshops, which will be planned based on demand. If this is something that you would like, please let us know ASAP!

Inspire Enrichment run workshops in all different artistic forms and enrichment activities, from makeup to dance, and Dungeons & Dragons to textiles. The Media Makeup workshops, led by Kiran, and Capture & Edit (Photography) workshops, led by Joel, are collaborating for SWAF 2026 to conjure up something exciting!

Why did you want to get involved with SWAF26?

Exhibiting work can be a scary thing if you've never done it before, and experience exhibiting your work is even harder to get nowadays. We want to give the young people that work with Inspire Enrichment the opportunity to make art around a theme, and then have their work exhibited, so that they can develop their self-confidence and sense of self as an artist.
