SHAPEITUPTOGETHER 10
Connect and discover yourself through Words Dance and Movement.
The production will be performed by dancers with mixed learning abilities.
The performance will evolve through regular workshops and rehearsals, in the forecoming months, leading up to the festival.
An analogy of SWAF will hopefully be the starting point of the choreography, stimulating ideas and movement for the finished performance piece.
For example:
S -Support, sensory, special....
W- Words, ways of moving.....
A- Art, anticipation, ....
F- festival, fun, friendship....
I am also planning to have some visual projections behind the group, to enhance the performance, if possible.
Ideas and input all very welcome.

My background is in performance art, working with many different theatre companies, stemming from London Wales and Swindon. My most recent being 'Theatre des Bicyclettes,' and 'jetsetjackie', curating and performing, ⁰for over 30 years, concentrating on visual art dance drama comedy clowning words and movement. This could cover personal, environmental or political topics, reaching out to a multi cultural diverse inclusive community.
My project for this year's SWAF festival, is about creating a dance platform for young people with special educational needs ( SEN)
Bringing and giving tbem opportunity to share their potential.
Their finished piece, will culminate in two performances, one on each Saturday, during the festival.( tbc).
I am also offering an open dance/ fun expressive movement workshop on each Friday of the festival, from 6pm to 7pm. No experiance needed, all ages and abilities welcome, free of charge.
Why did you want to get involved with SWAF26?
As I took part last year, with an interactive photographic exhibition, alongside an instalation, I wanted to offer a different art form, being that of a dance and movement project. Hence my reasons to want to take part again!
I think the festival is a fantastic opportunity for curators to either consolidate or experiment with new ideas,( so many great topics this year too!)in their chosen medium. It also opens doors for other artists/performers to contribute and show or perform their work.
