Stickers!!!

Stickers!!! is an exhibition celebrating an often underappreciated and overlooked art form, but one that's universally loved. The humble sticker is all around us, from business promotion to safety labels, from bands to tattoo artists, and everything in between. The exhibition is looking to explore the long history of the simple sticker, and its use in art, but also to inspire pieces that take inspiration from stickers.

What I’m looking for from artists:

Any medium is happily accepted, the only criteria is that it takes inspiration from and celebrates stickers. While my own medium is photography, I am look to see what artists using other mediums can bring to the subject, so please reach out and surprise me with your ideas.

mOODBOARDS + EXAMPLES:

about the curator:

Gideon Liddiard

I am a Swindon-based event and documentary photographer, I also work on promotional and product photography. My passion started as a creative outlet in the early 90s and has grown ever since. In addition to working for commercial clients, I am the lead photographer for the Swindon-based magazine 'Pig Hill', and regularly exhibit my work. I also regularly collaborate with artists in other media in joint exhibitions and MA projects.

My style focuses on clean, bold images, using contrast and tone to bring life and clarity to the work, while remaining grounded in an honest representation of the subject.

I believe that every image should tell its own story, engaging the viewer to want to know more about the subject and the story behind it

Why did you want to get involved with SWAF26?

I've been fortunate enough to be involved in SWAF from the beginning, and wanted to, once again, support it and the creative focus it brings to Swindon and the many and varied artists it supports.
