'My Hometown'

Hello!

This year I’ll be running my second animation exhibition with the Swindon Arts Fringe Festival. I’m looking for animators to create short animated films focused on the theme of ‘My Hometown’.

What I’m looking for from artists/ Animators:

I'm looking for short films that explore your feelings around your home town or a memory you have of your home town. This can mean the home town that you currently live in or the town you haven't seen in years. Its completely up to you how you break that down. Films can be animated in whatever way you like.

Ai will not be accepted in this exhibition.

I’ll be compiling all of the animations into a single video and posting it onto youtube for everyone to watch together on the 15th of June - The start date of the Swindon Arts Fringe Festival!

If interested in applying feel free to drop me a DM!

Media accepted

HD Digital formats only please! 1920x1080 would be ideal.

limitations or Guidlines

A few things to note:

  • All entries must be human made (no AI)

  • Submitted animations must be three minutes or shorter in length

  • Format should be 1920x1080 & 24 FPS.

  • Animations are allowed to be funny, but please try not to make stories that are too negative about your home town. They don't have to be all positive, they just can't be fully negative if that makes sense!

about the curator:

Leah Panigada-Carey

Hello, I'm Leah Panigada-Carey and I run SwindonAnimation. When I moved to Swindon in 2023, I saw that there were no communities and no resources for animators so since then, I've made it my mission to turn Swindon into an animation town!

I'm also helping Artsite to organise SWAF! I've helped to rally together the curators, set up the website and socials and generally keep things organised.

I've been animating for kids TV shows for about 13 years now on shows such as "Hey Duggee!", "Tom Gates" for Sky TV, "Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends", "Let's Learn with Pip & Posy", "Interrogator" on Warhammer+ and many more!

Why did you want to get involved with SWAF26?

I've been involved with SWAF since the start in 2024! I've learnt so much from it and every year presents new exciting opportunities and challenges so how could I say no?
